Free Summer Bowling

http://www.kidsbowlfree.com/ is offering 2 free games of bowling every day...all summer long for kids. Sign up and get weekly coupons to print out and take to your local participating bowling alley. All you have to pay for is the shoe rental, which is $2 (unless the kids have their own bowling shoes). Happy summer bowling!!

PS~ Bowling is a fun way to review basic subtraction concepts! On our way home from the bowling alley, we made up story problems about how many bowling pins were left, and how many had been knocked down if we started with 10.

Gingerbread House

We made this gingerbread house today for Uncle Erik. We got the fun of putting it together, and Erik will get the calories. Everyone is happy! :-)

Fair Day!

After a little bit of school in the morning, we decided to drop everything and go to the fair! The weather was beautiful, it wasn't crowded, and we had a great time! G went on several rides (the kiddy ones), we tried new foods (Piroshky, Caramel Apple and Scones), and saw farm animals up close. G even got to spin wool into yarn! What a wonderful opportunity for him to learn how sheep contribute to mommy's stockpile of knitting yarn. :-)

A New Attitude

The past week has been a great one! It's like I've had a revelation, a new breakthrough in my struggle with infertility. I feel great about my family as it is. Reading these books on parenting only children has really given me a new perspective and a much needed attitude adjustment. I'm so happy with our little family the way we are and the only way I want it to change is if it is God's will. I'm feeling contentedness wash over me and it's a great feeling. I'm looking forward to using my mental energy to build myself and others up instead of dwelling on what I can not do. I want to invest that energy into my marriage and my role as a mother.
